If there’s one thing that European furniture designers do incredibly well, it’s designing pieces that are small in size but big on style, and Iotti is no exception. From stylish designs that open up a small bathroom floorplan to whole collections of flexible storage options, Iotti offers a variety of small bathroom solutions that allow you to have a small bathroom and enjoy it, too.

I’m particularly fond of Iotti’s bathroom vanities for a couple reasons, and this Simple bathroom vanity set is a nice example of one of them: it’s very, very shallow, and I don’t mean that it’s vain. I mean that this baby sticks hardly more than a foot out from the wall. Typical bathroom vanities extend around 22 inches out into your room, making them almost twice as formidable, and twice as intrusive. For a compact space, slim, trim bathroom vanities like this one can both visually and literally open up your bathroom, giving you more room to move around, and often more flexibility when it comes to bathroom layout, even in a small bathroom.
This Integral bathroom vanity set is another good example. It, too, is a mere 14.7 inches deep, but my other favorite thing about Iotti’s designer bathroom vanities is that they’re incredibly storage smart as well. With a two-door cabinet that’s high enough you won’t have to bend to access it, shallow enough that you won’t loose stuff in the back, and two fully functioning drawers, this vanity has just about all the storage you could need in a space much smaller than average, simply because it’s well designed. This makes the stuff you use every day easier to access and easier to keep organized. Plus, if you have more toiletries than you can store in a smaller space, you can easily add on a matching medicine cabinet or wall mounted storage unit.

The storage options Iotti offers are really my favorite part of their collections of designer bathroom vanities. This Luna vanity set includes two different types of storage cabinets, plus a gorgeous wood-framed medicine cabinet in addition to the simple, sleek vanity. Why is this so great? Simply, because it’s flexible. Many bathroom vanity sets offer a single tower-style cabinet, if anything. But this set has a cabinet with the same slim footprint as the vanity, plus a wall mounted version that’s even slimmer. Standing mere inches out from the wall, this offers an excellent way to add storage space to a small bathroom without taking up any floor space at all. In fact, it sits so close to the wall that you’ll hardly notice that it’s there, except when you’re using it.
This Simple bathroom vanity set is a similar beast, doesn’t have any floor mounted cabinets. Instead, it has twin wall mounted cabinets are so slim that they sit on the wall more like artwork than storage units, leaving plenty of space below for a hamper, trash can, towel self, or even a small decorative table or chair. If you worry that such a setup won’t actually offer you enough storage, don’t – these storage cabinets are deeper and taller than a medicine cabinet, with two adjustable shelves to make it easy to fit whatever you need, and keep it organized. And because they’re shallower than the matching bathroom vanities, you won’t have to worry about bumping into them when you’re walking by.
Sometimes, though, it’s the little things that are really lovely. This Aurora vanity is lovely in its simplicity, with a clean, glossy white finish and two simple, geometric handles. Its stylish, square white vessel sink is a perfect finishing touch, adding a little height to a small vanity and giving it a supremely pleasing geometric shape. The matching medicine cabinet can have a simple halogen light mounted on top of it for extra task lighting, and you can even choose to install a simple towel bar to the side of the vanity to have a hand towel close at hand (and save a little wall space while you’re doing it). All little things, sure, but they’re both aesthetically pleasing and practically functional – exactly what you want in bathroom vanities destined for a compact, modern urban setting.
One of the most difficult things to accomplish in such a space is building a bathroom that works for two in a space that’s sized for one. A master bath in a loft, flat, apartment, or even small home might not have the space you’d hope and dream to have, but it’s not impossible to put accommodations for two in a space that might seem unfit even for one. Take this Aurora Double Vanity – it’s actually two 30 inch bathroom vanities mated by a single counter to create an impressively compact double vanity. Now, this might not offer all the elbow room of a larger double vanity, but it’s much, much more compact than most, but still has plenty of (separate!) storage for two, and it’ll work nicely even in a smaller space.
If you have a little more room and don’t want to be side by side when you brush, I’d opt for the slightly-smaller but not-conjoined Luna double bathroom vanities. Their small size offers much greater flexibility of design in a small bathroom (depending on your bathroom, you could even install them facing each other and brush back to back with your mate), and the rounded edge at the bottom allows you to stand close without knocking your shins on a corner. Even with a slightly larger bathroom, these bathroom vanities are a great way to save space for the fixtures you’ll enjoy, rather than the ones you merely need.
